Forensic Psychology Services

We provide psychological testing and examination regarding a variety of criminal justice referral questions, including competency to stand trial, not guilty by reason of insanity evaluations (mental state at the time of the offense), risk assessment, and mitigation consultation. ​ We also provide treatment for individuals involved in the criminal justice system or engaging in relevant behaviors - for those at risk of formal involvement, those under investigation and trying to navigate the system, and those trying to re-engage with life after a conviction.

We also provide testing and examinations for civil issues such as personal injury, workers' compensation claims, and fitness for duty evaluations. We have specific expertise in evaluating trauma and stressor responses (e.g., PTSD, adjustment disorders) as well as experience in evaluating for and diagnosing many other commonly accepted psychiatric conditions.

We specialize in independent examinations for Veterans Affairs disability and compensation/pension related claims. Dr. Flack has completed dozens of veterans' evaluations, both as an independent examiner as well as a third-party contractor with the VA C&P system. For independent examinations, Dr. Flack specializes in complex diagnostic presentations (including overlap of multiple diagnoses), questions of causality or etiology, especially around trauma responses, and cases with limited medical documentation of symptoms (i.e., cases relying on non-medical 'markers' of psychological change).
